Safeguarding Statement

True Craft Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students, particularly children and young people. The safety, well-being, and dignity of every student is a priority within all teaching activities.

 

All lessons are conducted within a professional, structured, and secure environment, with clear boundaries in place to protect both students and teacher.

Scope of Teaching

All lessons are delivered online via Zoom

- Teaching is conducted on a one-to-one basis

- Students may include children, teenagers, and adults

 

For students under 18:

- A parent or guardian must be aware of all lessons

- A parent or guardian must be accessible within the home during lesson time One-to-one

 

lessons are conducted with safeguarding measures in place to ensure transparency and accountability.

Code of Conduct

True Craft Academy maintains strict professional boundaries at all times:

 

- Communication remains professional and strictly lesson-related

- No private or informal communication with minors outside scheduled lessons

- No use of inappropriate language, behaviour, or content

- All interactions are conducted in a respectful and structured manner

- The teacher does not communicate with students via personal social media or private messaging platforms

Camera and environment expectations:

 

- Teacher and student must be appropriately dressed

- Lessons must take place in a suitable and visible environment

- Cameras are expected to remain on during lessons unless previously agreed with a parent or guardian

Online Safety Protocol

To ensure a safe online learning environment:

 

- Lessons are conducted only via Zoom

- Lesson links are shared securely with the student or parent

- Lessons are not recorded unless explicitly agreed in advance

- Any agreed recordings are used solely for educational purposes and handled in accordance with privacy and safeguarding standards

- Students must join lessons from a safe and appropriate space within the home

- Parents are expected to remain aware or nearby during lessons

DBS Disclosure

The teacher holds a valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.

- This can be presented upon request

- For security reasons, DBS documents are not published publicly online

Reporting Safeguarding Concerns

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for True Craft Academy is Presley Black.

 

If any safeguarding concern arises:

- Concerns must be reported as soon as possible

- Concerns can be raised via official business communication channels

- All concerns will be taken seriously and handled appropriately

- Where necessary, concerns may be referred to local safeguarding authorities or relevant child protection services

 

True Craft Academy reserves the right to take appropriate action to ensure the safety of all individuals involved

Communication Policy

- All communication is conducted through official business channels

- Communication with minors remains lesson-related and appropriate at all times

- Where appropriate, communication is directed through a parent or guardian

- No communication is conducted via personal or informal platforms

Responsibility and Boundaries

- True Craft Academy is responsible for maintaining a safe and professional environment during lesson time

- Parents or guardians retain full responsibility for the student:

- Before and after lessons- Outside of lesson interaction

Policy Review

This safeguarding policy is reviewed periodically to ensure it remains aligned with current safeguarding standards and best practices.
