Frequently asked questions
All lessons are conducted strictly live online via Zoom, allowing students to receive structured training from anywhere while learning on their own instrument at home.
No prior experience is required. The training is designed to guide students progressively, whether they are complete beginners, returning players, or experienced musicians looking to improve their skills.
Students should have access to an acoustic or digital piano, or a 61-keyed keyboard for lessons and practice.
Students will also need:
a stable internet connection
a device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or smartphone)
a quiet space where they can clearly hear and be heard
a notebook and pen or pencil for notes and exercises
Occasionally, students may need access to a printer for certain lesson materials.
Most students already have everything needed to begin lessons
Score Reading Mastery focuses on developing strong sight-reading ability and musical interpretation through written music. Score-Free Musicianship focuses on playing by ear, improvisation, and performing confidently across different musical styles. Some students eventually choose to study both paths.
Yes. The Score Reading Mastery course is suitable for students preparing for graded piano examinations such as ABRSM Grades 1–5.
